2501 Project - Master Farmers Educational Training Series

Given the increasing competitiveness of farming and the necessity of keeping abreast with the latest agricultural innovations, minority producers must have access to the appropriate educational information and training opportunities to enhance the viability of their small farm enterprises.

This year the extension personnel at Florida A&M University (FAMU) are initiating a new study to gain an in-depth understanding of the barriers and risks minority farmers encounter in farming. The data derived from this investigation will allow extension personnel at FAMU to develop the appropriate educational opportunities through the contribution of minority farmers in this study. If you plan on participating in this study, please return your signed IRB Informed Consent form to Dr. Angela McKenzie-Jakes if you are a livestock producer and to Dr. Gilbert Queeley if you are a crop producer by April 25, 2023.
